The Korea I thought I knew…
The Republic of South Korea, the former motherland of my parents and me, before we emigrated overseas for new opportunities and unforeseen struggles.
Korea is one of the few places in the world, where the past and present coincide. Here are some glimpses of the past and present thru my eyes. ay to experience this first hand is to buy a Metro card and walk thru the various districts of Seoul.
My journey starts off in Itaewon, where every day I would walk thru the narrow corridors, far removed from the hustle and bustle of what is now Itaewon. Behind the narrow streets deep into the mix of traditional Korean buildings are also the not-so-distant Korea. A story of struggle, sacrifice, and perseverance to improve which we often call collectively as Han.
This is my roll thru the various alleys of Korea.
